9 year old donates to save favorite wild life animal

A fourth grader At Reilly elementary is recycling old cell phones. Brady Delaney a 9 year old animal lover decided to collect 150  cell phones  but has now updated it to 1,000 according to the Cincinnati zoo website then they  help save gorillas habitats.

He was working on a school project for endangered species , then had an idea  that he could make donation boxes and set them up around Alexandria to make Sure people were eligible to donate and easier to drop their phones off .

Ramstetter, a zoo volunteer told Brady that a mineral known as Colton is used in cellphones. The ore is mined in gorilla habitats, which causes destruction. By recycling, the gorillas' habitats could be retained and other harmful substances from the phones will stay out of landfills. The zoo partners with Eco-cell, a company that provides no-landfill recycling. Then it raises money for the zoo conservation fund according to the Cincinnati zoo website.

By recycling your old phones you’re preventing the large number of hazardous wastes entering our environment. Metals such as copper and lead, they can also linger for a long amount of time and have multiple effects on people and on the health of people In general .The more people that recycle the better off we are and the better off the animals are in the long run in the wild.

The family participated in the gorilla run on March 30th of this year as team Brady. Brady dressed up as a gorilla and ran, to get more people to donate. Then he did the same thing for Halloween.
