Circus elephants and the bull hook

The bull hook is a tool that controls the use of training circus elephants. Elephants are scared and terrified of the bull hook. Elephants can’t handle pain; their skin is so sensitive and so brittle. Even though it may look tough it’s ultimately not .Animal trainer’s most of the time use the bull hooks in softer places on the elephants like the, feet, anus, behind the ears, and much more. Sometimes the trainers even disguise the bull hook into a show piece so customers at the show don’t see it. Trainers also do that so the animals know what happens if they mess up.

As a very young elephant the trainers will use bull hooks and the elephants will try to make noises and rebel but, unfortunately that doesn't work as seen on the link below with Ringling bros. circus. As of September 2013, in Los Angela’s UNANIMOUSLY voted that they would be banned on the use of circus elephants. So they could just use it on any other animal? They should have just banned it for the use of all animals’ not just elephants. But, at least the elephants are safe.  The next city that is in a law suit for using bull hooks is New York against Universal circus. The easiest way to not have elephants in circus’ is just to not have bull hooks .http://www.buzzfeed.com/mjs538/why-its-time-to-end-the-use-of-bullhooks-once-and-for-all

  1. That is so sad they should not do that to poor animals just because they dont do the trick they want them to do they need to find another way to train them instead of using the bull hook.
